1635 Chapter 24

This story will be written after the next section of the narrative.

I am particularly puzzled as to why this story tells of a kingdom of snakes and what significance it holds. The information that the young man received was from the blue-robed Tibetan people who referred to themselves as “Khambo people.” They lived in a place called Khambo, which is a valley in the snowy mountains. The young man’s interaction with them lasted only a few short hours, but the amount of information conveyed was overwhelming and chaotic. For the young man, he could almost immediately visualize what they were saying, allowing him to accept and digest all the information right away. However, for us, all the information was only in words, making it difficult to effectively understand what kind of place it really was.

If we were to look down at the entire valley from space, we would find that the strange lake in the snowy mountains presents a bluish hue akin to that of a sapphire, as if a bizarre blue gemstone were embedded in white satin. This strange lake is called Khambo Lake, which translates to “Blue Snow Mountain” in Chinese. When the young man was taken to the top of the lama temple and walked along the cliffs on both sides, he was stunned by the vast lake surface before him. To be honest, there aren’t many things that can deeply shock this young man; during his training for “impact,” his first reaction to any danger was calmness and indifference. All his training was aimed at enabling him to respond correctly in the face of any crisis. However, all of this was related to danger and ugliness. As a result, no matter how terrifying or horrifying the sight, he could not stir even a ripple of emotion within himself. Even when faced with the most brutal scenes and the greatest psychological burdens, he could endure it all. But this time was different. He realized that this was beauty. The moment he saw the lake’s surface, beauty broke through all his defenses.

He saw a deep blue lake, and the perspective from the top of the cliff was completely different from that at the lake’s edge. Here, sunlight was fully refracted, and the lake seemed so clear that it was hard to believe it was naturally formed; it resembled blue silk tightly stretched across the snowy valley, sprinkled with sapphire dust. This eerie blue was not the core of the scene; the most captivating aspect was the giant snowy mountain reflected in the lake. The snowy mountain, of course, was white, but when reflected on the lake’s surface, it transformed into a strange and enchanting blue. The towering snowy mountains by the lake were sacred and solemn, stirring an indescribable emotion within the heart, while the snowy mountain in the lake was even more mysterious and tranquil than the white one.

As they walked along the cliffs by the lake, they soon discovered a hidden valley. This valley was similar to the fan-shaped river channel we had walked through earlier. If one were to sail on the lake, they would undoubtedly be drawn to the massive river channel I had just entered, overlooking this particularly narrow and concealed valley. They descended into the more hidden valley. The river surface below was completely frozen, and as they walked on the ice, they soon found that the valley widened to four or five kilometers about a kilometer ahead. Numerous stones protruded from the river surface, and these stones were piled high with mani stones, resembling a peculiar stone formation. The young man continued to follow along. After passing the pile of mani stones, the lake surface transformed into a stony beach, and the young man noticed that the beach descended steeply in a staircase-like manner, but there were hidden stairs among them.
