1802 Chapter 9

The entire room is divided into two areas: one side is the resting area with the bed, and the other side is the office area with a sofa and coffee table. The so-called luxury suite has a particularly large office area, which features a quite comfortable three-seater sofa placed in the most prominent position opposite the television.

Right now, there is only that sofa separating Wang Meng and Li Cu. This is Li Cu’s only advantage; he knows that when one side is on the offensive, the first thing the other side must do is slow down the opponent’s attack speed. The simplest way to do this is to set up obstacles on the opponent’s attack route.

If Wang Meng wants to attack Li Cu, he has two options: one is to choose a direction and go around the sofa, but in that case, Li Cu can calmly run in the opposite direction; the other option is to jump directly over the sofa, but unless one is particularly agile, it will take longer to jump over the sofa than to go around it.

As long as Wang Meng chooses a direction, Li Cu will get an opportunity to rush to the door, open it, and shout down the corridor, “There’s a pervert!” while running down the stairs. He estimates he must reach the lobby quickly, as Wang Meng will definitely chase after him. If others see such a situation, their first reaction will be to get out of the way. Even if someone tries to be a hero, they will likely be taken down by Wang Meng’s electric shock. However, once he reaches the lobby, because there are enough people around, even if Wang Meng knocks himself out, he won’t be able to escape. At most, he would just embarrass himself in public.

Li Cu’s mind raced, and within half a second, he had made a plan. The only variable was whether Wang Meng had locked the door when he came in. If he had, things would get a bit tricky, but his eyes caught sight of the bathroom door next to the entrance.

The bathroom door was indeed open. If the main door wouldn’t budge, he could immediately rush into the bathroom and lock the door. Inside, there was a phone that could reach the front desk.

Wang Meng was clearly also contemplating how to launch a more assured attack. Whenever Li Cu moved, he followed suit, constantly predicting Li Cu’s movements. He didn’t recklessly close the distance but used the sofa as a shield. His movements were very agile; no matter how many feints Li Cu made, he couldn’t shake him off.

Li Cu began to sweat coldly. It was a match against a worthy opponent; this guy was completely different from his drunken father who stumbled around. It seemed he had mastered the essence of indoor chase battles—perhaps this guy had a childhood similar to his own.

The two of them seemed to be dancing back and forth in the room, and Li Cu gradually began to feel restless. Several times, he wanted to take a desperate leap forward, but he held back at the last moment. He realized that Wang Meng was always ready to deliver a full-force strike just when he was about to make his move.

What to do?

Li Cu had never imagined that he would find himself in such a predicament. The scars on his back began to itch and throb, but just as his steps became chaotic, a loud crash echoed. Suddenly, Wang Meng, who had been spinning and moving in front of him, came to a halt. His focused gaze rolled back, and he collapsed onto the ground. The electric shock gun in his hand fell to the floor, rolling across the carpet until it landed in the corner.

It was then that Li Cu saw Liang Wan, her hair disheveled, stepping over Wang Meng from behind, holding a broken vase. The vase was completely shattered, and she attempted to smash it again, only to realize that all that was left was the handle. She discarded the remnants of the vase and kicked Wang Meng hard twice in the groin.

Wang Meng curled up in pain, and at that moment, Li Cu noticed the electric shock gun in the corner. He picked it up and jabbed it into Wang Meng’s back. Instantly, the smell of burning flesh filled the air, and Wang Meng trembled all over, a warm liquid spreading from his groin.

After a brief silence, Liang Wan said to Li Cu, “Why are you standing there in a daze? Help me up; we need to get back to the hospital.”

“What about him?” Li Cu asked.

“Don’t worry, he won’t die. Do you think I should take care of him?” Liang Wan replied.

“Shouldn’t we call the police?” Li Cu inquired.

“We can’t call the police. You don’t know his identity. I’ve heard some things; if we call the police, it will become a big deal. I think I need to take a few days off to hide; otherwise, they will come looking for me,” Liang Wan said. “By the way, where’s your money?”

Li Cu took out a check, and Liang Wan said, “I need half of it. I suffered a lot of bad luck today.”

“Why should you get half? You didn’t even get hurt,” Li Cu argued.

Liang Wan retorted, “I have two big holes burned in my back! I thought this guy was my true love, but he turned out to have ulterior motives and was willing to resort to violence. Regardless, if you don’t give me my share, I’ll turn myself in and tell them about your money. You’ll be implicated in bribing a criminal, and you won’t get a single cent.”

Liang Wan said this through gritted teeth, and seeing her expression, Li Cu couldn’t tell if she was in pain or truly furious, so he reluctantly agreed. Liang Wan grabbed his hand and instructed him to support her, saying, “Be a little more affectionate; let’s get out of the hotel first. Who knows if he’s alone.”

Liang Wan was a very petite woman, and when Li Cu’s hand rested on her shoulder, it felt quite comfortable, prompting him to hold her a bit tighter. Liang Wan didn’t notice, and they made their way down the elevator. Li Cu’s hospital gown was quite conspicuous, but no one stopped them as they exited the hotel and got into a taxi. Only then did Liang Wan breathe a sigh of relief. “Where are we going now?” Li Cu asked.

Liang Wan looked at him, thought for a moment, and then said, “Let’s go to my house!”
