Before the words were finished, a monkey with a mouth directly pounced on the fat man’s face. The fat man slammed his head against the well wall, knocking the monkey unconscious, and then threw it directly into the pit. Turning around, he saw that monkeys were continuously crawling in from the opening, so he raised his gun and fired.
Next, I watched as other subordinates crawled up from the darkness, and they were all startled to see us.
“Why are there so many monkeys!” the fat man shouted angrily. “What are you all doing? Ah Hua, was your Sun Wukong disguise recognized?”
“Get lost! Guns!” Xiao Hua shouted, and the fat man turned around and tossed his “domestically produced” AK47 to Xiao Hua.
The fat man needed to brace himself against the cave wall with one hand, while Xiao Hua could use both hands to hold the gun with her legs wedged on either side. With a few bursts, she shot the monkeys near the entrance into pieces. The gunfire in this space nearly deafened us, and the hot bullets hit my cheeks, causing several large welts to swell.
Under Xiao Hua’s cover, the fat man crawled to the opening, and the people below tossed up guns and bullets.
As soon as I grabbed the heavy domestically produced AK, rage surged from my heart, and I felt a surge of malice. That’s why you shouldn’t let the oppressed take up arms. I raised my hand and sprayed bullets at the stone slab above, shattering it and sending the monkeys that had turned into chunks of meat tumbling down. One of them landed right on the fat man’s head. I fired a burst toward the well opening while crawling out.
I flipped over and immediately got up, only to see hundreds of “face birds” perched on the trees around and at the edge of the well. At least a few hundred of them turned their “faces” toward us almost simultaneously.
“All firepower!” I shouted, starting to shoot at the closest ones. I shot one away, but then felt a pain in my back as another one landed on me. I turned around and hit it with the butt of my gun. I saw Xiao Hua flip out, rolling on the ground and leaning against me. Almost simultaneously, all the face birds took off into the air, obscured by the moonlight.
“Bullets!” I shouted, and Xiao Hua and I began to fire simultaneously. Feathers filled the air, and several magazines were tossed out of the well. I discarded the empty one and picked up another to reload. The pressure came crashing down on me, and I yelled, “Damn it, don’t linger in the well!!!” as I fired wildly into the sky.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew by, and Xiao Hua was grabbed into the air. I raised my gun but didn’t dare to shoot in the darkness. A figure with a slingshot climbed up third, shooting Xiao Hua down along with the bird. I rushed over and shot the face bird I stepped on. Xiao Hua kicked me down. Then I felt a chill on my back as a claw nearly grazed my spine; Xiao Hua lay down and fired a shot, splattering blood on me. Xiao Hua flipped up and yelled at the figure with the slingshot, “Damn it, aim properly before you shoot! That hurt!”
“I’m sorry! Flower Master!” the figure with the slingshot shot another round, hitting a bird behind Xiao Hua. At the same time, the fat man climbed out, holding two grenades. He tossed them into the air. “Dodge!”
“Damn it!” I shouted angrily as the three of us jumped up and once again found another well opening to climb back in.
The grenades exploded, lighting up the sky as bright as day, and then I felt my feet give way, and I fell back into the passage.
I almost landed in a pile of monkeys. I struggled free with a few blows from the butt of my gun, sweeping everything in front of me away. The ones behind me climbed up, and I felt sharp pain as I realized my spine had been bitten.
